Get voicemail by email
- Audience: End users

When voicemail email is on, a notice lands in your inbox each time someone leaves you a message. You can also have the recording attached, so you can listen from your computer or phone without calling in.
Change where your voicemail email goes
Notices go to the email address on your account. To change it:
- Step 1:Sign in to your user portal
Go to proxy.callsprout.com, or on Contact Center Pro to your company's own callsprout.com address, which CallSprout gives you. Sign in with your email address and your user portal password. That password is different from your voicemail PIN.
- Step 2:Open My Details
Select My Details.
- Step 3:Update your email
Enter the new address in the E-mail field.
- Step 4:Save
Select Save.
Turn on voicemail email for a user (admins)
Some labels in your portal or apps may look slightly different from this guide.
- Step 1:Open the user
Go to Extensions and edit the user. Check that the E-mail field in the General settings has the right address.
- Step 2:Open the voicemail settings
Select Show advanced options and scroll to the Voicemail section.
- Step 3:Turn on email
Set Send E-mail to Yes.
- Step 4:Choose whether to attach the audio
Set Attach to Yes to include the recording in each email.
- Step 5:Add other recipients (optional)
Enter extra addresses in Carbon Copy E-mails. Use Pager e-mail for a short notice sent to a separate address.
- Step 6:Save
Save your changes.
What each option does
- Send E-mail turns the notice on or off for this user. Yes sends it, No stops it, and Not Set follows your system's default.
- Attach adds the audio file to the notice. Without it, the email tells you someone called but you listen by phone or in your user portal.
- Carbon Copy E-mails sends the same notice to extra people, such as a coworker who covers for the user.
- Pager e-mail sends a short notice to a separate address.
What to expect
Delete After E-mailing removes each message from the mailbox once it's emailed, so the email is the only copy. It works only when Attach is Yes, and it can't be combined with call notifications. Leave it off if people also check voicemail by phone or in the portal.
Messages that aren't deleted stay in the mailbox for 4 weeks. You can play them in your browser, too. See Listen to, move, forward and delete voicemail online.
If emails don't arrive, check that Send E-mail is Yes, that the address is spelled correctly and that the notice didn't land in a spam folder.
