Use speed dial codes

Speed dial gives a short code to a number you call often, like a supplier or a coworker's cell phone. Instead of dialing the whole number, you dial the speed dial code and the short code.

Call a speed dial number

   Lift your handset

   Or press the speaker key.

   Dial the speed dial code

   Dial *130.

   Step 3:

   Dial the short code

   Dial the short code for the number you want, right after the speed dial code. Short codes are three digits or more long. For example, if your supplier's short code is 550, dial the speed dial code followed by 550.

Where speed dial codes come from

Your admin sets up speed dial codes. You may have a list of your own, and your company may also have shared codes everyone can use. Each entry has a short code of three digits or more, a name so you remember what it's for, and the number it dials.

Ask your admin which codes you have, or to add a number you call often.

Troubleshooting

• The code doesn't connect. Check the short code with your admin. Your extension also needs speed dial turned on to use the company's list, so ask your admin to check that too.
