Manage forwarding, follow me and caller ID online
- Audience: End users
Last updated
Your user portal lets you send calls to another number, try several numbers for you, keep calls from ringing and choose how your number shows on outgoing calls.
Some labels in your portal or apps may look slightly different from this guide.
Before you start
You only see the call settings turned on for you. If a setting is missing, or the whole section is, read Why can't I see some portal sections?.
Change a call setting
- Step 1:Sign inSign in to your user portal.
- Step 2:Open your call settingsSelect Other, then Services.
- Step 3:Pick a settingFind the one you want, such as call forwarding, follow me or caller ID.
- Step 4:Edit itSelect Edit next to it.
- Step 5:Save your changeMake your change and save it.
What each one does
- Call forwarding sends your calls to another extension or phone number, either every call or only when you're busy, don't answer or your phone is offline.
- Follow me makes your calls try your other numbers too.
- Do Not Disturb keeps calls from ringing on your phone.
- Caller ID controls how your number shows on calls you make, including hiding it.
Speed dial and other call settings may be in the list too. Each one opens its own settings when you select Edit.
Some settings may ask for your PIN before they let you change them. Which settings each person can edit is set by CallSprout support when your admin asks.
Do the same from a phone
You can also set these from your desk phone:
- Forward calls: dial *71 and then a number. Turn it off with *72.
- Do Not Disturb: dial *78 to turn it on and *79 to turn it off.
- Follow me: dial *520 to turn it on and *521 to turn it off.
- Caller ID: dial *67 to hide your number on every call until you dial *68 to show it again.
The star code cheat sheet has the full list. To compare ways to forward and pick the right one, see Forward your calls.
To confirm a change, check the forwarding and Do Not Disturb tiles on your dashboard. See Read your portal dashboard.
