- Audience: End users
Last updated
You can start recording a call from your desk phone at any point, and pause recording while a caller reads out something you shouldn't keep, like a card number.
Recording laws vary by state. Your company is responsible for any notice or consent they require.
Recording on demand is on for every user, so the codes on this page work from any desk phone on your account.
Record a call
- Step 1:Dial the record code during the callWhile you're talking, dial *159.
- Step 2:Carry on with the callRecording starts from that moment. Depending on how your account is set up, the other person may hear a message that the call is being recorded. CallSprout sets this with your company during setup, so ask your admin if you're not sure.
Pause and resume recording
- Step 1:Pause before sensitive detailsDial *90 before the caller shares a card number or other private details.
- Step 2:Resume when they're doneDial *91 to start recording again.
Find your recordings
- By phone: dial *170, then a number from 1 to 9. 1 plays your newest recorded call and 9 the oldest of your last nine.
- In your user portal: open your call history to download or delete a recording.
- By email: your admin can set your on demand recordings to be emailed to you.
Recordings are kept for 30 days.
Troubleshooting
- Pausing doesn't work. Your admin's settings may not allow pausing. Ask them to check.
- You can't find a recording. It may be past the time recordings are kept. Ask your admin.
