Your first day on CallSprout: a checklist
- Audience: End users
- Audience: App users
Last updated
Work through these steps on your first day. Each one takes a few minutes. Your admin or CallSprout support gives you your email address, a password and your extension before you start.
- Step 1:Sign in to your user portal
Go to proxy.callsprout.com and sign in with your email address and user password. On Contact Center Pro, use your company's own callsprout.com address instead, which CallSprout gives you. Your user password is not your voicemail PIN. If you don't have a password yet, ask your admin. More help is in Sign in to your user portal.
- Step 2:Check your details and set a PIN
Confirm the email address on your extension is right, because you use it to sign in. Then set a PIN you'll remember. You use it to reach your voicemail by phone.
- Step 3:Check your voicemail
From your desk phone, dial *123 to reach your own mailbox. Then record your greeting so callers hear your name and not a default message. Record your voicemail greetings and name shows how.
- Step 4:Install your app, if you have one
If your company added the apps, install CallSprout Communicator NEXT on your computer, using the link in your welcome email or downloads.callsprout.com/communicator/Latest/, and sign in with the same email address and password. Communicator NEXT also asks for a host. Enter proxy.callsprout.com, or your company's own callsprout.com address on Contact Center Pro. Not sure which app fits you? See which CallSprout app to use.
- Step 5:Set your status and Do Not Disturb
In the app, select your profile picture at the top and pick a status. Use the phone Do Not Disturb option when you need quiet. On a desk phone, dial *78 to turn it on and *79 to turn it off.
- Step 6:Test your audio
Dial *398 from your desk phone to run an echo test and check your audio.
Worth doing soon
- Turn on two step verification. Look for the 2-Step Verification button in your user portal. It adds a code from an authenticator app each time you sign in. It doesn't work together with single sign-on.
- Keep the star code cheat sheet close. The star code cheat sheet lists the codes you'll use most.
