Tour of the Communicator window and sidebar
- Audience: App users
- Add-on: Communicator apps
Last updated
Communicator has a sidebar on the left, a bar across the top, and a main area that changes with the tab you pick. This page shows what each part does.
This feature needs the Communicator apps add-on on your account. See plans and pricing
Some labels in your portal or apps may look slightly different from this guide.
The sidebar
The sidebar tabs take you to the parts of the app, such as Voice for calls, Team Chat and Contacts. Which tabs you see depends on what's turned on for your extension and your company's services. Voice is always first and Settings is always last.
Some tabs may only appear when your company has the matching service. For example, the Dashboard tab with ring group wallboards comes with Contact Center Lite and Contact Center Pro. CallSprout support turns on Contact Center Lite for your company, and turns the dashboard on for each person your admin names (see watch your groups with the ring group dashboard). If the Dashboard tab is missing, ask your admin. If another tab is missing, ask your admin to check with CallSprout support.
