Sign in to Communicator (password, SSO, two step)
- Audience: App users
- Add-on: Communicator apps
Last updated
You sign in to Communicator with the work email tied to your extension. The steps are the same in CallSprout Communicator NEXT on your computer and in a browser, with one extra field in Communicator NEXT. Each extension needs its own email address.
This feature needs the Communicator apps add-on on your account. See plans and pricing
Some labels in your portal or apps may look slightly different from this guide.
Sign in with your password
- Step 1:Open CommunicatorStart Communicator NEXT, or open Communicator for the web in your browser.
- Step 2:Pick the password tabSelect Password Login.
- Step 3:Enter your email and passwordType the email tied to your extension and your password. Select the eye icon if you want to check what you typed.
- Step 4:Enter the hostIn Communicator NEXT, type proxy.callsprout.com in the Host field. On Contact Center Pro, enter your company's own callsprout.com address instead, which CallSprout gives you. The web app doesn't have this field, because the address you opened already tells it where to connect.
- Step 5:Remember this accountTick Save this account if you want to pick it from a Change account list next time.
- Step 6:ContinueSelect Continue.
The first time you sign in, you're asked to choose a new password. It needs a strong mix of letters, numbers and symbols. Your admin can't see it afterward.
Reset a forgotten password
Select Forgot your password? and follow the steps. The app emails you a link. The link may stop working after a short time, so open it soon after it arrives. Once you're in, set a new password you'll remember.
Single sign-on
Single sign-on lets you sign in with your work Microsoft or Google account. It's available on request: your admin asks CallSprout support, and support turns it on for your company. Once it's on, sign in from the SSO Login tab instead. Some versions ask for your company's SSO domain first, then let you pick the account to use.
Two step verification
Set it up from your user portal, then Communicator asks for the code from your authenticator app when you sign in. If you tick Remember me on this device, you can skip the code on that device next time. Follow Turn on two step verification. You can't use two step verification and single sign-on together.
Troubleshooting
- The app says your username or password is incorrect. Check that you used the email tied to your extension, not a personal one, and try again. If it still fails, reset your password.
- Your sign in asks for a code you don't have. Ask your admin or contact support.
