Install Communicator NEXT on Windows or Mac

CallSprout Communicator NEXT is the app for calls, chat and contacts on your computer. Installing it takes a few minutes.

Before you start

Have your sign in details ready. Your admin or CallSprout gives you the work email tied to your extension and a first password. Some companies install Communicator NEXT on each computer for you. If yours does, skip ahead to signing in.

Install the app

   Step 1:

   Download the installer

   Use the download link from your welcome email or our downloads page, downloads.callsprout.com/communicator/Latest/, to get the installer. On the downloads page, open the Next-PC folder for Windows or the Next-Mac folder for Mac.

   Run it

   Open the file you downloaded and follow the prompts.

   Accept the license agreement

   Read the agreement and accept it to continue.

   Open Communicator NEXT

   Launch the app when the installer finishes. You'll land on the sign in screen.

What to expect on first launch

Some versions of the app start with a short setup screen. It may ask how you sign in, which account to use, which edition you have, and which phones you want to use. CallSprout support sets your edition, so use the details your admin gave you. If you're not sure, ask your admin before you pick one.

After you sign in, choose how you want calls to ring.

Windows package files

On Windows, Communicator NEXT comes as a package file in the MSIX format. It installs and removes cleanly, and it updates itself. Open it the way you'd open any other Windows installer. Communicator NEXT isn't supported on terminal servers or other shared remote desktop servers. If you're an admin installing it on many PCs, see Deploy Communicator to many Windows PCs.

If you can't install software

Use Communicator for the web. It runs in your browser and needs no install.
