Sign out or quit: which to use
- Audience: App users
- Add-on: Communicator apps
Last updated
Communicator GO has a Quit option with two choices, Sign Out and Quit. They sound alike but they do different things.
This feature needs the Communicator apps add-on on your account. See plans and pricing
Some labels in your portal or apps may look slightly different from this guide.
Find the option
On Android, open the drawer menu and select Quit. On iPhone, open the More menu and select Quit. The app then asks which of the two you want.
What each one does
| Choice | What happens | Next time you open the app |
|---|---|---|
| Sign Out | Clears your profile data from the app. | You need your password to sign in again. |
| Quit | Closes the app and keeps your data and settings. | You don't need your password. |
Which one to pick
- Sign Out when you're handing the phone to someone else, selling it, or you want the app to forget you.
- Quit when you want the app closed for now. Push notifications stop until you open the app again, so you won't get call or message alerts in the meantime.
To keep getting calls, leave the app running in the background and don't use Quit. For more on that, see Don't miss calls when the app is in the background.
If you sign out, you'll sign back in with your email and password. See Install and sign in to Communicator GO.
