Page coworkers and use intercom
- Audience: End users

Paging plays your voice through other people's desk phone speakers, like an overhead announcement. Intercom does the same for one phone, but lets the other person talk back.
Before you start
Your admin sets up who you can page. Your own paging list holds the phones you can reach with the page all and page one codes. Paging groups are shared lists your admin creates, each with its own group number.
Page or call over the speaker
| Dial | To |
|---|---|
| *399 | Page every phone on your paging list at once. |
| *400 then the extension | Page one phone from your list. They hear you but can't reply. |
| *400* then the extension | Start a two way intercom call with one phone from your list. |
| *600 then the group number | Page everyone in a paging group. For example, for group 300, dial the code followed by 300. |
- Step 1:Lift your handsetOr press the speaker key.
- Step 2:Dial the codeUse one of the codes above, followed by the extension or group number if it needs one.
- Step 3:Wait for the phones to pick upPhones that support it answer on their own and put you on their speaker.
- Step 4:SpeakMake your announcement, then hang up.
What to expect
- Some paging groups are two way, so people can answer you, and others are announcement only.
- A phone that can't answer by itself rings like a normal call instead.
- Outside numbers in a paging group always ring like a normal call.
- Some groups are set to quiet mode, so the phones you page don't play a tone first.
Troubleshooting
- One person never gets your pages. Speaker pages skip an extension that has two or more desk phones, or another company's softphone app, signed in to it. Having Communicator signed in is fine. Ask your admin to check.
- A phone rings instead of answering on speaker. That phone may not support answering pages on its own. Ask your admin.
