With Communicator in Teams added and the desktop plugin running, you can handle your CallSprout calls from inside Teams.

Some labels in your portal or apps may look slightly different from this guide.

The Microsoft Teams integration features described on this page require an active, permitted connection to Microsoft Teams. Availability depends on that system's supported APIs and permissions.

Make a call

  1. Step 1:
    Pick your device
In the bar along the bottom of the app, choose what to call from: softphone, desk phone or mobile app.
  2. Step 2:
    Open the dialpad
    Select Phone at the top.
  3. Step 3:
    Dial
Type the number and select Dial. You can also drag a contact into the dial area, or select the phone icon next to a contact.

To call the last number again, press Enter twice with the number field empty. Press and hold 0 to type a plus sign.

If the person is on a call or has Do Not Disturb on, the desktop plugin offers Call on Available, which reminds you once they're free. You can also call anyway, call their voicemail or cancel.

Answer a call

A notice appears in the bottom left with Answer and Reject. Select the notice itself for more choices, like sending the caller to voicemail or forwarding the call to someone else. Rejected calls go to voicemail. A call you leave alone goes to voicemail after about half a minute, though your extension's ring settings may change that.

During a call

  • Mute and Hold work in the desktop plugin.
  • Transfer has three types. Regular sends the call straight over, Supervised lets you speak to the other person first, and Voicemail drops the caller into someone's mailbox. You can also drag the caller's picture onto a contact and choose blind or supervised as you hover. Dragging doesn't work on conference calls.
  • Add brings in another person and turns the call into a conference. Dragging a contact onto the call does the same thing.
  • Park puts the call in a parking lot you pick.
  • Switch Device moves the call to your softphone, desk phone or mobile app, or rings all of them so you can answer on any one. It works on conference calls too.

Pick up a parked call

Open Parked Calls and select the call, or dial the extension it's parked on. Switch between My Calls and All Calls to see only yours or everyone's.
