Voicemail in Communicator

  • Audience: App users
  • Add-on: Communicator apps

Last updated

Your voicemail shows up in Communicator, so you can play messages without dialing in.

This feature needs the Communicator apps add-on on your account. See plans and pricing

Some labels in your portal or apps may look slightly different from this guide.

Listen to a message

  1. Step 1:
    Open Voicemails
On the Voice tab, select Voicemails in the top menu.
  2. Step 2:
    Pick a tab
Messages you haven't dealt with are under New. Ones you've kept are under Old.
  3. Step 3:
    Play the message
Select a message, then use the controls along the bottom of the screen.

Urgent messages

Listen to urgent messages first. You'll find them pinned to the top of the New list with a red exclamation icon. Moving one changes that: send it to Old and bring it back, and it returns as a regular message.

Other things you can do

In the app you can call the person back, move a message between New and Old, and delete it. Some versions also let you save a message to your computer. Depending on your version, the message list may show a person's name and extension for coworkers, and only the number for outside callers.

In Communicator for the web, the voicemail list may be under the three dot menu rather than the Voice tab.

Other ways to check

To check from a phone, see Check voicemail from a phone, at the office or away. Online, see Listen to, move, forward and delete voicemail online.

Troubleshooting

  • A message won't play. Check your computer's speakers or headset. Then try again, or play it from your user portal.
  • You can't find Voicemails. Contact support and we'll check your account.
