CallSprout + Google Cloud Speech-to-Text
Google Cloud Speech-to-Text is one of the engines behind CallSprout's live transcription and voicemail to text, turning recorded calls and voicemail into words you can read. Available for Google Cloud Speech-to-Text.
How CallSprout works with Google Cloud Speech-to-Text.
Two CallSprout features depend on turning speech into text. Live transcription writes out recorded calls in extensions, ring groups and queues while they are in progress, and voicemail to text lets your team read a message instead of playing it. Google Cloud Speech-to-Text is one of the providers that can do that work.
When Google is the provider for a feature on your account, the audio that feature needs goes to Google for processing, and the text comes back to CallSprout. Google supports regional processing in the US and EU, which some teams prefer for data location reasons.
The provider for each feature is set for each account, and we choose it with you. Some setups use your own Google Cloud account. When they do, Google Cloud's terms and usage charges apply to that account.

What Sage does once your call data flows into the tools you already use.
Live transcription on recorded calls in extensions, ring groups and queues can run on Google, with text arriving while the conversation is still going.
Voicemail to text can run on Google, so messages show up as words your team can skim before calling back.
Google offers regional endpoints in the US and EU, so audio can be processed in the region that fits your policies.
What Google does inside CallSprout
Google handles the speech recognition. CallSprout decides which calls and voicemails are included, handles the recording, and delivers the text to the places you set up. Google turns the audio into words in between.
Live transcription only runs on calls that are recorded, and only in the extensions, ring groups and queues where you turn it on. Recording and disclosure handling are configurable for each deployment. Requirements vary by state and by call type, so you remain responsible for confirming what notice or consent your jurisdiction requires.
Choosing Google or another provider
Live transcription for recorded calls on CallSprout can run on Google, Deepgram, AWS or OpenAI. Voicemail to text can run on Google or OpenAI, among others. We help you pick based on your calls, your languages, where you want audio processed, and whether you already have a Google Cloud account you want to use.
When Google is the provider, the audio from the recorded calls or voicemails that feature covers is sent to Google for processing. We go through what is sent where during setup.
