CallSprout + Synthflow

Connect the managed voice agent you run on Synthflow to CallSprout's phone system, with calls that hand off to your team when a person is needed. Requires Synthflow's Enterprise plan. Available for Synthflow.

The Synthflow integration features described on this page require an active, permitted connection to Synthflow. Availability depends on that system's supported APIs and permissions.

Overview

How CallSprout works with Synthflow.

Synthflow is a managed platform for voice agents. You configure the agent's behavior, knowledge and actions in Synthflow, and Synthflow runs it for you. Teams choose it when they want a capable agent without building and hosting one themselves.

CallSprout connects your Synthflow agent to your CallSprout phone system over SIP. Inbound calls on the numbers you choose go to the agent, and the agent can place outbound calls through CallSprout. Synthflow handles the conversation. CallSprout stays the phone system underneath, with your numbers, your routing, and the people who take over when the agent hands off.

One requirement to know up front: Synthflow's SIP connection is only available on Synthflow's Enterprise plan. Without it, Synthflow cannot connect to an outside phone system like CallSprout. Bring-your-own-agent connections are in early access, and we set each one up with you. If you would rather not run your own agent, Sage, CallSprout's AI voice agent, is built into the platform.

What you get

CallSprout and Synthflow, working together.

What Sage does once your call data flows into the tools you already use.

Your managed agent on your business line

Callers reach the Synthflow agent you configured on the CallSprout numbers they already call. Its behavior and knowledge stay in Synthflow.

Inbound and outbound over SIP

Route inbound calls to the agent and let it place outbound calls through CallSprout, so both directions run on one phone system.

Hand-offs to people on CallSprout phones

When a caller needs a person, the agent transfers the call to an extension, ring group or queue on CallSprout, and your team answers on the phones and apps they already use.

A clear requirement, checked before setup

Synthflow's SIP connection needs its Enterprise plan. We confirm your plan on the first call, so nobody finds out halfway through.

Synthflow runs the agent, CallSprout runs the phones

Everything about the agent lives in your Synthflow account: its prompt, its knowledge, its voice and the actions it can take. Your Synthflow agent can use those actions to look up an account or create a ticket in your help desk during the call. CallSprout does not change them.

CallSprout provides what sits around the agent: numbers, business hours, ring groups, queues and call flows. You choose which calls reach the agent, and transfers come back to CallSprout extensions and groups, so your team stays on one phone system.

The Enterprise plan requirement

Synthflow offers its SIP connection only on its Enterprise plan. That is a Synthflow rule, not a CallSprout one, and it applies to any outside phone system. If you are on a different Synthflow plan, you would need to move to Enterprise before we can connect your agent, so it is worth raising with Synthflow early.

If Enterprise is not a fit, Sage runs on CallSprout with no separate platform, and other agent platforms such as Retell and Vapi connect over SIP as well.

What early access means

We set up each bring-your-own-agent connection by hand. On a short call we confirm your Synthflow plan, look at the agent and the numbers it should answer, and map where transfers should go. Then we configure the SIP connection on both sides and test inbound calls, outbound calls and hand-offs.

Your Synthflow account, its usage and its billing stay yours, under Synthflow's own terms. CallSprout provides the phone system, the numbers and your team.

Common scenarios

What this looks like day to day.

A managed agent without a dev team

You set up an agent in Synthflow to answer common questions. It takes the main line on CallSprout and sends anything it cannot handle to the front desk ring group.

After-hours answering

CallSprout's business hours route evening calls to the Synthflow agent. Urgent calls transfer to the on-call group, and the rest wait for the team in the morning.

Outbound calls from your own number

The agent places outbound calls through CallSprout so customers see a number they know, and anyone who asks for a person is transferred to your team.

Questions

Synthflow, answered.

Does CallSprout work with Synthflow?
Yes, on Synthflow's Enterprise plan. CallSprout connects to Synthflow over SIP, and Synthflow offers its SIP connection only on Enterprise. With it, your agent can answer inbound calls on CallSprout numbers and place outbound calls through CallSprout.
Why does it need Synthflow's Enterprise plan?
Synthflow makes its SIP connection available only on Enterprise. That is Synthflow's requirement and applies to any outside phone system, not only CallSprout.
Can the agent transfer callers to my team?
Yes. The agent can hand a call to an extension, ring group or queue on CallSprout, and the person answers on their CallSprout phone or app. We test transfers with you during setup.
Do I need my own Synthflow account?
Yes. The agent and its usage live in your Synthflow account, under Synthflow's terms and billing. CallSprout provides the phone system the agent runs on.
What if I am not on Synthflow Enterprise?
You would need Synthflow's Enterprise plan for this connection. If that is not a fit, Sage is built into CallSprout, and other agent platforms such as Retell and Vapi connect over SIP.
