The Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens were founded in 1977 by Ann Weaver Norton, an American sculptor whose works of art can be found in many cities around the world. The gardens include her former residence as well as an outdoor sculpture studio which served as her workspace until her death in 1982. In 1990, the gardens were opened to the public and have since become one of West Palm Beach’s most popular attractions.
What You Can See There
The grounds of the gardens feature more than 20 sculptures ranging from abstract forms to animal figures. One of the highlights is “Wall with Five Openings” which was made out of five blocks of coral rock and stands at 11 feet tall! There is also a series of sculptures created specifically for children called “Totem Animals”, which includes creatures such as an elephant, a giraffe, and a turtle – all made out of concrete! In addition to these works of art, visitors can also enjoy wandering through the lush tropical gardens that are filled with native plants and trees.
